Hawaiian Christmas

No, we’re not planning to go. Unfortunately.

Tim was in the dollar store and bought a couple of solar-powered figurines… one was a hula dancer, pictured at right. Amongst the growing Christmas decorations in our house, I couldn’t help but think of a song from Bing Cosby’s Christmas Album, deep in my childhood:

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas day
That’s the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway
