R22: Harper Runs Canada like a Business

I wrote about this last year when we in Toronto had to choose a new mayor. The candidates were proud of their business experience, and touted the idea of running the city like a business. The specifics might be different, but the idea is the same (Bowles, 2014). Much though it apparently has an appeal to some voters, it is not a concept that has much worth when really played out. I lived through some of this in the States; and result was further disconnect between the people and their leadership, further exploitation of human capital at the expense of services for people. A nation is not a business. The Canadian government should be representing all people, not just businessmen and developers.
